What Is Myotherapy?

 

Myotherapy is the Diagnosis, Treatment and Management of Musculo-skeletal injuries and ailments that affects the overall functionality of the human body.

 

Why Would I See a Myotherapist?

 

There are a number of reasons to see a Clinical Myotherapist. Some of the common reasons include:

What does a Myotherapy session involve?

 

During a Myotherapy session Thomas will take a detailed history from you where we uncover the likely causes of your issues. From work life balance to childhood sporting careers much will be discussed in order to gather a clear indication of what are the likely causes of pain and dysfunction.

 

Then Thomas will use assessment methods such as range of motion, strength/resistance tests and palpation to start to understand the origins and locations of your key issues.

Once we have gathered enough information treatment will follow. The different treatment modalities that you can expect to experience include:

  • Deep Tissue Massage

  • Trigger Point Therapy

  • Joint Mobilisation

  • Myofascial Dry Needling

  • Stretching

  • Exercise/Rehabilitation exercises
